Crystal Assembly

For the four-piece octohedron, start with four equilateral triangles. After cutting to shape, grinding and foiling, arrange the pieces in the following pattern. Make sure the smooth side of the glass faces down.

Then, fold the pieces into the octohedron shape and tape the corners together using duct tape:

One corner at a time, remove the tape and solder the corner together.

At this point, all that's left is to bead the edges, and finish the piece to taste. Beading is relatively easy since all the edges are straight. Finally, I prefer applying a black patina.
