West Rouge
Up until 1973, the area to the east of Port Union Road was a part of Pickering. But the residents of the area felt they weren't getting a proper quality of services, and so by a vote of 60%, the residents decided to join the Borough of Scarborough.
This area consists almost entirely of single-family homes with a smattering of small retail plazas. Homes along both sides Ridgewood Road get a view over neighboring houses. It's too bad there isn't a park where more people could enjoy the view. Currently, the only views available to the public are from a couple of pedestrian paths leading east and west.
