Rouge Beach Park
At the easternmost point of the city of Toronto is a gem of a park. A nice beach lines the Lake Ontario shore. North of the railroad tracks is the Rouge Marsh, a good place to watch wildlife. This is also the place where the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail enters Toronto. Railroad fans will enjoy this place because of the CN bridge crossing the Rouge River. Visit during a weekday rush hour, and you won't have to wait long to see a GO train.
Recently, the parks roadway and parking lot were repaved, but it took a while for the road to be opened to an impatient public. The contracter that built the speed bumps made them a bit too high causing damage to a few cars. The road had to be closed until the problem was fixed. One of the improvements made was the addition of a ramp on the Toronto side of the pedestrian bridge crossing the river.
