St. George Street
This house was built in 1872 in the French Second Empire style by Nathaniel Dickey. From 1876 to 1878, it was the home of Canada's first prime minister, Sir John A. MacDonald. In 1888, the house was bought by the Hon. Oliver Mowat, prime minister of Ontario. From 1897 to 1898, the house was leased to the Hon. Arther Sturgis Hardy who succeeded Mowat as premier.
