Front Street, 1983
Some parts of Toronto seem to never change. But this page shows one area of Toronto as it once was, not as it is today.
In 1983, Roy Thompson Hall had just been built. Across the street was the Royal Alexandra, which continues to draw audiences. Down the street was the popular Ed's Warehouse restaurant, which is no longer in business.
To the west of the new Roy Thompson Hall, many of the old warehouses and freight sidings were still at least somewhat in use. At this time, there was no Metro Hall, no CBC Broadcast Centre, no Convention Centre, and no Rogers Centre.
