Ontario Place
Ontario Place is an amusement park built on a couple of artificial islands in Lake Ontario in front of Exhibition Place. It's home to one of the first Imax cinemas in the world, the Cinesphere. Ontario Place is open all summer. During the run of the CNE, admission to Ontario Place is included in the CNE ticket.
One popular attraction is the Amphitheatre. This started out as an intimate "theatre in the round", featuring a round, rotating stage. Although there was plenty of covered seating, many enjoyed watching the show sitting on the grass on the surrounding hill. More recently, though, the pleasant, original theater was replaced by a more "practical" structure.
The five "pods" situated above the water can be used as exhibition space or large parties. For example, in the late 1980's, my employer rented out one pod to celebrate a significant product launch announcement. (Since then, however, product announcements have been much more modest!)
