Locomotive 78-246 June 1993, Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg, Germany Deutsche Bundesbahn locomotive 78-246 at the Deutsches Dampflok Museum in Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg. This attractive locomotive of Prussian heritage was commonly used for commuter trains. The locomotive could run equally well in both directions. This museum contains representatives from all of the classes of steam locomotives in use after the Second World War. When steam was banned from German rail lines, these locomotives were gathered together in this museum. The museum can be found between a couple of scenic tourist areas in northern Bavaria.
