Alexanderplatz

D-B-Alexanderplatz.jpeg

May 1997, Berlin, Germany

The Alexanderplatz, in the center of the city, is dominated by the 365m tall Fernsehturm. From the observation level, you get an excellent view of the center of the city. To the west, you can see the Berliner Dom. Further west at the end of Unter Den Linden, is the Brandenburg Gate. Immediately below, you can see the main railroad line snake through the city, crossing the Spree River several times. To the west, you can see a vast expanse of apartment buildings built after the end of the war.

In the foreground in this photo is the World Clock, where you can easily find the time anywhere in the world.
