Brandenburger Tor May 1997, Berlin, Germany The Brandenburg Gate is another well known symbol of the city. The gate was built in 1789, and the Victory Quadriga on top was built in 1793. Originally, the Quadriga faced the park to the west. But after the Berlin was built, they repositioned the Quadriga to face eastwards to the center of the city, then in East Berlin.
